Interview with Aly & Fila / Intervju sa Aly & Fila

ENG: When we recevied information that the famous Egyptian duo Aly & Fila are coming to Serbia Wonderland festival, we had to get in touch with them. We will talk a little bit about their arrival in Serbia. Anyone who has ever listened to trance music knows them, they are synonym for “uplifting” and “euphoric trance” and we await their appearance in our country with so much impatience. With great respect we present you Aly & Fila.

SRB: Kada smo dobili informaciju da čuveni Egipatski duo Aly & Fila stižu na Serbia Wonderland festival morali smo da stupimo u kontakt s njima i da popričamo malo u vezi njihovog prvog dolaska u Srbiju. Ko god da je ikad slušao trance muziku zna njih zna da su sinonim za “Uplifting”  i “Euphoric Trance” i mi sa nestpljenjem iščekujemo njihov prvi nastup u našoj zemlji. Sa velikim poštovanjem predstavljamo vam Aly & Filu.

ENG: Hi Aly, and hi Fadi, greetings from Serbia and Onlyclubbing. For the start of the interview, will you be kind to introduce yourself to your fans here and to tell us something about your beginnings.

SRB: Ćao Aly, ćao Fadi, pozdrav iz Srbije i ekipe sajta Onlyclubbing. Za početak intervjua da li biste bili ljubazni da se predstavite vašim fanovima ovde i da nam kažete nešto o svojim počecima?

ENG: Greetings to you all!  We released our first production in 2003 called Eye of Horus on Euphonic Recordings.

SRB: Pozdrav i vama takodje svima. Mi smo izdali prvo izdanje 2003 nazvano “Eye of Horus” koje je izašlo na “Euphonic Recordings”.

ENG: Here in Serbia its very hard to succeed as a DJ, can you tell us how was it for you in Egypt?

SRB: Ovde u Srbiji je jako teško uspeti kao DJ, da li nam možete reći kako je za vas bilo u početku u Egiptu?

ENG: It was extremely hard, especially as most international DJs at this time were from Holland or Britain or Ireland. To have an Egyptian Trance Duo on the international circuit was a first, so it took time but through hard work and perseverance we got there.

SRB: Bilo je ekstremno teško, pogotovo što je u to vreme najviše najboljih i najpoznatijih DJ-eva dolazilo iz Holandije, Britanije ili Irske. Da bi se na sceni istakao Egipatski trance duo bilo je jako teško u početku, trebalo je vremena, ali sa mnogo rada i upornosti, uspeli smo.

ENG: What attracted you to trance music and what was the main reason you decided to become a DJ?

SRB: Šta vas je privuklo ka trance muzici i koji je glavni razlog zašto ste poslali DJ-evi?

ENG: During the 1990s, Fila would travel to Germany and there he would collect Mix Tapes of Paul Van Dyk, bring them back to Egypt and we would listen to them and dream of becoming Trance DJs.

SRB: Tokom 1990. tih, Fila je purovao u Nemačku i tamo je bio u mogućnosti da skuplja mikseve od Paul Van Dyk-a, donose ih u Egipat gde bismo ih slušali i sanjali da postanemo Trance DJ-evi.

ENG: Your first release, “Eye of Horus,” in 2002 for the German label Euphonic Records was a real bomb, can you say that your international career officially started with that release.

SRB: Vaše prvo izdanje, “Eye of Horus” iz 2002. godine za Nemački label “Euphonic Records” je bio prava bomba, da li se može reći da je vaša internacionalna karijera upravo počela sa tim izdanjem?

ENG: 2003 it was released, and yes for sure that put us on the map.  The Ronski Speed remix was great also, and the track featured on many compilations such as Gatecrasher giving us an international presence.

SRB: 2003. je izdato, i da može se reći da nas je to izdanje izbacilo na scenu. “The Ronski Speed” remiks je isto bio sjajan, i traka je bila na mnogim kompilacijama kao što je “Gatecrasher” omogućivši nam prisustvo na internacionalnoj sceni.

ENG: Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren and many others famous DJs gave you support, which one of them do you cooperate the most?

SRB: Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren i mnogi drugi poznati DJ-evi su vam dali veliku podršku, sa kojima od njih najviše saradjujete?

ENG: We have a strong association with Paul van Dyk and Armin Van Buuren.

SRB: Čvrsto smo povezani sa Paul Van Dyk-om i Armin Van Buuren-om.

ENG: You are regular guest on Armin’s ASOT, can you tell us about more about your relations?

SRB: Redovni se gosti na Arminovim čuvenim ASOT žurkama, da li nam možete reći nešto više o vašem odnosu?

ENG: As a radio show, Armin has really supported so much over the years.  From an event point of view, we have played Armin’s annual ASOT Event 7 Years in a row, next year for ASOT 650 will be 8 Years in a row , our relationship with Armin and their team is very strong.

SRB: U vezi radio emisije, Armin nas stvarno jako puno podržava tokom svih ovih godina. Vezano za njegove jubilarne ASOT žurke, mi smo puštali evo sada već sedam godina za redom, a sledeće godine kad bude proslava ASOT 650 biće i osma godina za redom, naša veza je mnogo jaka kako sa Arminom tako i sa njegovim timom.

ENG: You have many excellent tracks behind you, Eye of Horus, Spirit of Ka, A Dream Of Peace, Ankh – Breath of Life,Thebes.  Where do you find inspiration for these wonderful tracks, for example our favorite “We Control The Sunlight?”

SRB: Imate mnogo sjajnih traka iza sebe, Eye of Horus, Spirit of Ka, A Dream Of Peace, Ankh – Breath of Life,Thebes. Gde nalazite inspiraciju za te sjajne i prelepe trake, na primer za naš favorit “We Control The Sunlight?”

ENG: The inspiration comes from traveling the world, meeting the fans and embracing various cultures on our travels but for sure the fans inspire us so much.

SRB: Inspiraciju dobijamo od mnogih putovanja po svetu, upoznavajući fanove i mnoge različite kulture na našim putovanjima, ali najviše nas inspirišu naši fanovi.

ENG: Not many DJs can say that they succeeded in life with their best friend from childhood, did anything change between you two now?

SRB: Ne može mnogo DJ-eva da se pohvali da je uspelo u životu zajedno sa svojim najboljim drugom iz detinjstva, da li se nešto promenilo u vašem odnosu tokom svih ovih godina?

ENG: Nothing at all, we are still the same with each other as we were when we were kids.

SRB: Ali baš nista, i dalje smo oni isti i odnosi su nam isti kao kad smo bili deca.

ENG: You are one of the headliners on Serbia Wonderland Festival – Chapter 2, and this will be your first performance in Serbia. Are you excited and how familiar are you with Serbia and the Electronic Dance Music scene?

SRB: Vi ste jedni od hedlajnera na Serbia Wonderland Festivalu – poglavlje dva, i to će vam biti prvo gostovanje u Srbiji. Da li ste uzbudjeni povodom toga i koliko ste upoznati sa Srbijom i našom scenom?

ENG: We are extremely excited, we always wanted to perform in Serbia, one of our colleagues Sied van Riel played the first edition and said it was excellent.

SRB: Mi smo ekstremno uzbudjeni, oduvek smo želeli da nastupamo u Srbiji, jedan od naših kolega Sied van Riel je puštao na prvom izdanju i rekao je da je bilo sjajno.

ENG: We are hungry for good trance, and cant wait to enjoy your famous uplifting and euphoric trance, once again we welcome you and hope that you will feel our energy and share our excitement…

SRB: Mi smo iskreno gladni za dobrim trensom i ne možemo da dočekamo da uživamo u vašem čuvenom “uplifting” i “euphoric” trensu, još jednom vam želimo dobrodošlicu i nadamo se da ćete osetiti našu energiju i podeliti s nama naše uzbudjenje…

ENG: We will work hand in hand, as we can promise you a set of pure Uplifting and Euphoric Trance , see you all there!
